Inabe is a Japanese city located in Mie Prefecture between Nagoya and Kyoto. It is close to Lake Biwa and is also home to one of the most spectacular golf courses in Japan, Ryosen Golf Club. Golfers are spoilt for choice when it comes to golf clubs in this region of Japan but you cannot afford to miss playing a round at Ryosen Golf Club.

This golf club was established in 1992 and is a par-72, 18 hole course. It is very easy to reach from either Nagoya Station or Chubu Centrair International Airport, both of which are within 80 kilometres of the venue. Once there, you are treated to a superb round of golf.

Ryosen Golf Club is a picturesque golf course which includes several Japanese gardens. Each of the gardens can be viewed from different points during the round and include elegant buildings, bridges, floating islands, streams, waterfalls, stone structures, ponds, trees and flowers. It pays to visit Ryosen Golf Club in both the spring and autumn as the gardens provide an excellent backdrop to a round of golf with both the cherry blossom and autumn colours.

Back to the golf course itself and there are three tee positions available on each of the 18 holes. Playing from the back tee, the golf course plays to 7,169 yards but from the shortest tee boxes it plays to just 6,186 yards, making it suitable for everyone.

Ryosen Golf Club has four par-3 holes, ten par-4 holes and four par-5 holes. The most interesting of the par-3 holes is arguably the 12th which is played over water to a green that is protected by two bunkers to the back right and left plus surrounded by trees. Water comes into play on several of the holes at Ryosen Golf Club and another good example is the par-4, 5th hole. The fairway is a significant dogleg to the right and there is a tree in the middle which must be avoided. However, trying to cut across the angle is not easy thanks to the water on the right side of the fairway and the green is protected by a large bunker to the front right.

The 18th hole at Ryosen Golf Club is an excellent finishing hole. The par-5 plays to 574 yards from the back tee and has the potential to make or break a round. The fairway bends from right to left and at the landing point you will find two bunkers on the left side. The green is protected by two huge bunkers at the front and back plus there is water on the left side which adds to the difficulty of the approach shot.

However, while Ryosen Golf Club provides a stern test of golfing ability, there is no getting away from the beauty of the golf course and surroundings. In addition to the golf course you will find a lovely clubhouse and gardens complete with restaurant and pro shop.

Ryosen Golf Club

Beautiful golf course - great scenery

Lovely scenic golf course which at first glance seems to be flat and easy but they have placed the bunkers and water hazards in very strategic locations so it's not that easy to score well.
