Mie Country club is set in the north of the Hokusei region of Japan.

The natural terrain of the area dictates the style of the course, but clever design and attention to detail have blended together seamlessly to create a course that sits perfectly within its natural environment.

At 6585-yards and a par of 72, the course is mid-length making it accessible to all golfers, as long as you choose the correct tee for your level of play.

Across the 18-hole layout the course is relatively flat with few elevation changes, making it ideal for beginners.

The fairways are in general wide and inviting, although they are flanked by mature trees, so if you do stray offline you will be in trouble.

Water is not abundant here, which again leads this to be a superb course for mid-high handicappers.

Bunkers are seemingly positioned in the perfect spot, creating a few difficult shot selections.

The 12th is famous in the area for the incredible optical illusion created by the designer, leading the hole to have the reputation of the “Impregnable Green”

Course conditions are generally good with high quality greens and lush fairways.

Facilities in the well-appointed clubhouse include swimming pool with spectacular views across the mountains, large locker rooms, pro-shop and a restaurant serving local cuisine.

Practice facilities are good with a driving range, practice bunker, chipping and putting greens.

Mie Country Club

Lovely course with great view of the mountains

Reviewed by ; on
A fairly typical Japanese course in excellent condition although the rough is a little long. You get great views of the mountains as you make your way round and the 12th hole is particularly memorable being a sharp dog leg with a very difficult approach to the green 30 metres above you.
