Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course was designed by legendary golfer Gary Player and opened for play in 1999. It enjoys an enviable position close to the banks of both the River Kumozu and River Haze. Being situated next to the Meisho Line, with two train stations located within just a few minutes of the Golf Club, Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course is easy to reach.

For those travelling by car and wanting to stay in a major city close by, Suzuka, Kyoto and Nagoya are all options.

The 18 hole golf course has been designed with nature in mind and the holes are surrounded by trees. This is not a long golf course by modern standards and plays to 6,420 yards from the back tee. In addition to this Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course has an additional three tee boxes on each hole, making the course suitable for players of all abilities.

In fact, Player created this course with the vision of it being playable for all golfers regardless of their level of ability or age. In his own words, Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course is ‘a course that golfers of all ages can enjoy’.

The round of golf at Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course begins with a fairly standard par-4 hole. There is just one bunker to the right side of the fairway close to the landing position and the fairway narrows as it approaches the green. There is out of bounds on the left side as you get close to the green but this 1st hole is a decent opportunity to make a good start.

Water is not a huge feature on this golf course and despite having a few ponds located around the 18 holes, it only really comes into play on one hole which is the 16th. This par-3 requires a tee over water to a large circular green which is protected by three bunkers. Most players should not have a problem clearing the water and finding the putting surface on this hole.

Arguably the toughest hole on the course comes in the front 9 and is the 5th hole. This par-5 plays to 560 yards from the back tee and is the longest hole at Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course. The narrow fairway futures a dogleg to the right and there is out of bounds on both sides throughout the whole length of the hole. There is one fairway bunker and the green is protected by two bunkers but keeping the ball on the narrow fairway is the key to success on this hole.

In addition to the excellent 18 hole golf course you can enjoy open air and indoor baths, a restaurant and a 4 star hotel should you wish to stay and make a weekend of it at Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course.

Excellent Golf Club Ichishi Onsen Course

Easy Course

The fairways are wide and quite forgiving but you need to watch out for the OB stakes which come into play on many holes. There are some tricky holes abut the course is not too long so not too difficult to recover if you make a mistake. Did not think much of lunch choices.
