Meihan Chisan Country Club

Holes 54 | Par 180 | Length 0 m / 0 y | Type Parkland | Architect

Meihan Chisan Country club, known locally as Nagasaki Chisan Club is a splendid selection of golf courses.

Offering 5 nine-hole loops the course is able to cater for every golfer type and a large number of golfers, although booking is advisable especially at weekends.

The first of the loops is the Aoyama loop, measuring 3488-yards from the back tees the course is characterised by narrow, rolling fairways, small, subtly undulating greens and beautiful ponds that create a tricky selection of holes.

Ali Inn, is the second loop of nine holes, generally paired with the Aoyama loop the characteristics of the course are similar, although the woodland is slightly less dense and encroaches a little less on the play. Measuring 3369-yards from the back tees the total for the 18-hole loop is 6987-yards.

Iga Dragon is the third, measuring 3324-yards from the back tees. The fairways are wider than the previous two courses, but the inclusion of water hazards and well-positioned bunkers add to the difficulty.

Pair Iga Dragon with Iga, measuring 2886-yards you have an 18-hole course measuring 6210-yards, much like the Iga Dragon the fairways are wider, offering more room for error from the tee. The 18-hole loop is less undulating too, making this the ideal choice for mid to high handicappers.

The Iga Nishi nine completes the 5 loops and is the shortest measuring 2784-yards from the backs. The fairways gently roll through the thick woodland to create a wonderfully strategic golf course, that certainly offers the chance for some really good scores.

All the courses here have two greens, all maintained to a wonderfully high standard.

Clubhouse facilities are as you would expect from a course that boasts 5 loops of nine holes.

Enjoyed the course as there were few people

A pretty traditional Japanese course with narrow tree-lined fairways and several doglegs and blind shots. Found the par-3's difficult to judge.
