The clubhouse is large and more than sufficient for the needs of visiting golfers and club members alike. Facilities within the clubhouse include a golfer’s lounge where your every need is catered for, a well-equipped pro shop with a resident pro on hand to offer advice and a superb practice facility which includes a driving range and short game practice area. Built over 200 acres the course takes advantage of the natural lagoon which Nicklaus has cleverly integrated into his design, the abundant water, waste areas and large bunkers, a Nicklaus design trait, make for a visually dramatic layout. The rolling fairways are a joy to see and play with tight knit roots to ensure an almost certain good lie. The greens can be extremely fast, especially during a dry spell and are treacherous.

With its location close to the seafront the course invariably as some holes that play along the shoreline offering not only a challenge for the golfer but also stunning views out across the South China Sea.

One of the challenges golfers will undoubtedly face when visiting The Borneo Golf and Country Club is the sea breezes. Nicklaus upon designing this courses ensured that the style closely followed that of the great Links courses of the United Kingdom and in doing insured that the wind would definitely become a huge player throughout the game.

It is this ingenious design that allows golfers of all levels to enjoy this wonderful course to the maximum.

A round here will not disappoint and it is absolutely no surprise that the course is gaining worldwide recognition as one of the best courses in Malaysia. It is a course that has the Nicklaus signature to it and it is definitely a course he can be proud of.

The golf course has been designed to match all levels of ability, and this one is another gem. However, the BGCC has an overvalued view of the course.
