Palm Resort Golf and Country Club is situated in an enviable location, just off Jalan Jumbo, on the southernmost tip of the Malaysia Peninsular.  The Golf club is just a 3-minute drive from Johor Bahru's Sultan Ismail Airport and less than an hour away from Singapore, using the second Link Expressway, making it very accessible to both visitors and those living in the region.

There are three distinct, 18-hole championship golf courses to enjoy at Palm Resort Golf and Country Club, which opened for business in 1994.  Although all three courses were designed by Hiromasa Inagawa, there is enough to differentiate each of them, that they are all worth playing when staying at the resort.

Each course is named after the flora of Malaysia and as a result, they are called Allamanda, Cempaka and Melati.  Each course is based on the natural rolling hills and picturesque lakes of the region and water is often a feature on numerous holes around the golf club, with large bunkers coming in to play off the tee and on approach to the green.

The Allamanda Course played host to the Johnnie Walker Super Tour in 1998 and World Cup qualifiers in 2002 and 2004.  The scenery on this golf course is fantastic, with well-maintained Tifdwarf Bermuda greens, adding to the large sand bunkers and water features.  Fairways are often undulating, with changes in elevation and doglegs situated throughout.

Designed as a “Resort Course”, it is a favourite course for play featuring breathtaking scenery of water features, daunting sand bunkers, and carefully-manicured Tifdwarf greens hidden amongst verdant landscaping. The fairways and roughs are severely undulating in places, and well-guarded which can pose challenges towards securing a victory. It embodies 11 holes of water and two signature holes represented by No. 2 and No. 15.

Palm Resort - Allamanda Course

a pretty good course

The fairways and greens were not very well managed because they were old, but they were decent for the price. Caddy excelled in professionalism and kindness.

Palm Resort - Allamanda Course

a cost-effective golf course

Since it is an old golf course, the fairways and greens were not in the best condition, but it was good to cool off with the trees, especially the caddy was kind and had a good understanding of golf, which helped a lot in the play.

The course is in perfect condition, but the greens are very difficult. They haven't been watered at all, but the greens are fast.
