Lakewood Links is the most recent golf course to open in Bangkok and we have not had a chance to play it yet - the course is still maturing and will take some time to be up to the standards of its sister course.  The almost total lack of trees leaves the course very exposed to the prevailing winds.  A very unusual links-style layout with two unique signature par 3s - one in the shape of a starfish and another in the shape of a crab.  The course is very flat an featureless with virtually no trees and it winds its way around the very large lake which dominates the layout.

A tough opening hole and unless you hit your first drive very straight you will either end up in the water or the bunker.  Similar issue on the par 4 second with two large fairway bunkers and then a tough approach with a huge bunker and the lake protecting the green.  The par 5 third is a classic risk and reward hole and the better golfers can take on the water hazard and go straight for the green.  The fourth is the longest of the par 3s at more than 230 yards from the back tees.  If you can negotiate the numerous hazards guarding the fairway then you are rewarded with a pretty easy approach to a receptive green.  The sixth is a really birdie opportunity if you can pick the right spot off the tee and on the seventh you can really open your shoulders as the fairway is wide open and then it’s on to one of the signature par 3s which features an island green and a bunker in the shape of a crab waiting to gobble up your ball. Very tough finish to the front nine and the lake runs all along the right side from tee to green.

Not much respite on the back nine and the 12th in particular which is the longest of the par 5s at over 600 yards has trouble everywhere and you will do well to reach the green unscathed.  This is followed by the shortest of the par 4s which is a slight dogleg left with a large but very well guarded green and two very large fairway bunkers. A very dangerous par 4 fourteenth with a huge fairway bunker and water along the right and then four huge bunkers protecting the undulating putting surface.  The fifteenth also has trouble everywhere with a large lake to the left, a smaller lake to the right and bunker in between – you need to be very accurate here.  A reasonably easy finish and the seventeenth is a simple par 4 if you can avoid trouble off the green and the eighteenth is another short par 4 with a water carry onto the green for those that are brave.

Lakewood Links is one of the only golf courses in Bangok that opens daily for night golf.  The Lake House at Lakewood Links is a sall club house with a restaurant. There is also a pro shop selling golf merchandise.

Tee Time Bookings at Lakewood Links

As this is a new and as yet undiscovered golf courses, tee times are pretty easy at the moment but as the course gets more popular we expect it to get very busy especially at weekends.

Good value for money

A lot of water, but not a lot of trees. Greens are average, but fairways are in reasonable condition. Very open area, so quite windy. Good caddies, friendly and Knowledgeable.

good and tough set up but maintenance is not up to Bangkok Golf Standard with the Price as well

Reviewed by ; on
It shares the same clubhouse with lakewood and same management. It was a nice set up, good green, very natural and good tough golf course to beat, unfortunate the rough cuttings and the rest not properly maintain. THB4.5k for all in (Buggy and caddy) on weekend is way not value for money. might as well just play at Lakewood Course. For the price of Lakewood i don't mind playing here again just trying to play my handicap for par golf.

Nice course but needs time to mature

Reviewed by ; on
As its name suggests this is a links-style course with some interesting holes -m particularly the par 3's. Very few trees on the course except for a few saplings but we enjoyed the round.
