Located in the Saythany District of Vientiane, Sea Games Golf Club was constructed by Boo Young Co Ltd after much discussion and deliberation over how best to create the course.   Surrounded by the natural forests of Laos, the Seas Games Golf Club offers a unique sense of mystery and wonderment that few golf courses can offer. The designers pride themselves on the creation of a golf course that blends seemingly with nature in an environmentally friendly manner.

The course was originally built to host the 25th Sea Games competition but has quickly developed a reputation for its quality, service and layout.

27 holes, some of the toughest in Laos PDR, await you. The course is split into 9 loops, labelled the A, B and C courses. All three loops of 9 measure around the 3600 yard mark and provide a mixture of holes, with all challenging the golfer. This is not a “holiday” course where the golfer is eased in to the round or pampered with straightforward holes, oh no, this is attest of your golfing ability.

In total there are 7 enormous lakes that sit proudly throughout the entire layout, although many o not come into play directly the threat of water is enough to unnerve even the best of golfers.

Sea Games Golf Club is not the hardest of courses to walk with the fairways flat and very little change in elevation throughout the round.

However, what it lacks in undulations it makes up for with shot making challenges, the fairways are narrow and the penalty for missing them harsh.

The A course sets the tone for the day as you are tested from the outset, holes 1 and 2 being handicap 3 and 1 respectively.

Course B is no different with the first being rated as the second hardest hole on the B course 9.

As with all the courses there are no “standout” holes on any of the loops of 9, instead a constant flow of well-designed challenging holes which require powerful hitting and sensible shot making choices.

But on the C course the 4th is worth a mention, stroke index one, the hole is long and from the tee seemingly straightforward, but it is the clever design of the hole and the use of the bunker in front of the green which creates an optical illusion. It is a longer second shot than you think so take care to choose the correct club.

Perhaps the only hole that will live long in the memory is the 7th on Course C, a par three, from the yellow tees it measures in at just 134 yards, but the difficulty lies with the tee shot. Played over the large lake to a relatively small green your nerves will be tested even on this short par three.

The facilities at the club are good with a large clubhouse offering a restaurant and separate bar which offers refreshments and views over the golf course.
