Golf holidays in Fukuoka

Fukuoka Prefecture is the 9th most populated prefecture in Japan and located on the island of Kyushu. The prefecture includes the two largest cities in Kyushu which are Fukuoka and Kitakyushu. The former is the capital city of the region while Kitakyushu is where you will find much of the industry for Kyushu island.

For those planning Fukuoka holidays and golf packages, you can reach Fukuoka by taking a flight from Tokyo Narita Airport which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. There are several flights a day provided by Japan’s national airlines such as JAL and ANA. So, whatever time you arrive in Tokyo you should have no problem making the connection to Fukuoka. It is also possible to fly from Osaka International Airport in just over an hour or take the train.

Once in Fukuoka you will find plenty of exciting things to do and see. Due to its coastal location there are many beaches to enjoy and islands to visit such as Shikanoshima. This is a rural island which is attached to the main island via a road. It is also possible to enjoy boat trips around Hakata Bay. Many people like to book Fukuoka holidays because of the beaches and islands.

Ōhori-kōen is a park which cannot be missed and is home to the walls of the former Fukuoka Castle, an amusement park, a wild bird forest and a traditional Japanese garden. You will also find a lovely range of mountains which are perfect for hiking. However, when booking Fukuoka golf packages, you are going to want to build your holiday around the golf and there are some tremendous courses to play.

There are plenty of golf courses to choose from in Fukuoka but one of the leading venues for golf in this region of Japan is Satsuki Golf Club. There are two 18-hole golf courses to choose from at this venue but if you have time to play only one, we recommend the Tenpai Course. This course opened for play in 1982 and is surrounded by nature, including plenty of trees which line the fairways and surround the greens. While there are plenty of bunkers around the 18 holes you will not find a great deal of water on the Tenpai Course and it is a great place to begin a Fukuoka golf holiday.

For those who enjoy a challenge with water, Wakagi Golf Club is the place to be in Fukuoka. This 18-hole golf course starts with a relatively straight forward par-4 hole but once you get to the 9th hole water comes into play. Look out for the 11th, 17th and 18th holes which all feature greens surrounded by water.

One of the many great things about booking golf Holidays in Fukuoka is the variety of the golf courses. Aso iizuka Golf Course, Beppu Golf Club, Beppuogiyama Golf Club and Fukuoka Kokusai Country Club are just a small example of what is available. These golf courses provide the opportunity to play along the coast, in the countryside or at elevation with fantastic views of the surrounding area.
