Khao Yai Golf Club is a once great course which has fallen into disrepair, and so should probably be avoided for the time being. One of the three Jack Nicklaus designed courses under the Mission Hills banner, Khao Yai Golf Club, found just outside the National Park, is an enjoyable challenge that offers some stunning views of the surrounding hills.
The sloping hills and numerous bunkers do plenty to test your accuracy and in holes 10 and 11, which make full use of the valley in which the course is set, the course can boast two of the best back to back holes in the area. The large waste bunkers dotted around the course (something of a Nicklaus signature) are best avoided and in general you have to be pretty precise to score well. Sadly, the course has changed hands a few too many times with the result that this once famous course has fallen from its original lofty perch.
Ongoing maintenance programmes have thus far failed to rectify the variable condition of the course, and the onsite resort seems to be in a permanent state of construction. If you really want to play, it's best to check near the time what state the course is in, but in light of all this it's probably best at this stage to look at the alternatives.
