Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong Course is not a new golf course having opened for play in Singapore in 1995. However, it has had plenty of time to settle in and become established as one of the leading golf courses in this region of Asia.

Despite being in existence for over 20 years, Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong Course enjoyed a major renovation and redesign in 2016 which cost $35 million. The result is a spectacular golf course which provides tremendous views of metropolitan Singapore from the majority of the 18 holes. This makes it unique to Singapore in that respect. The high quality of the golf course is undeniable and is kept in pristine condition throughout the year.

There is a choice of 6 different tee positions on each hole and this makes the course suitable for most players.

One of the leading features of the Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong Course are the large bunkers which are bigger than those seen on many other golf courses in Singapore and Asia. This is evident on the 1st hole of the round which is a par-4 that plays to 363 metres. The tee shot must clear a stream before landing on the narrow fairway but the most testing aspect of the first home is the approach shot to the green. The putting surface is protected on the left by a huge bunker complex which is shared with the 10th green.

The first par-3 of the round is played on the 4th hole and this is where you will find one of the best panoramic views of Singapore. However, concentration is key as the green on the 158 metre hole has significant bunkering to the front and left and there is no bailout area.

The 5th hole is the first par-5 and also the first hole of the round which features a significant amount of water. There is a long Lake on the left side of the hole which stretches from the tee to the green. Players who are feeling confident can attempt to reach the green in two but this often leads to a shot which cuts across the water.

However, there is no doubting the most spectacular hold on the Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong Course and that's the 6th hole. This hole boasts a 20-metre high waterfall which is located next to the tee area and can be seen from many other holes on the course.

If you are still in doubt regarding Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong Course, the fact it has been chosen to host the 2020 HSBC Women's World Championship should quickly put you at rest. In addition to the superb golf course, you can enjoy Japanese fine dining at the Sushi Kondo Restaurant plus the golf academy is available if you wish to fine tune your game.

Rain.

Played up to 9 holes. Rained out after. For the money spent, not worth it unless your guaranteed good weather. Otherwise, say good bye to your hard earned money.

Great course as you would expect on Sentosa.

Well laid out course with some very nice looking holes. A little on the expensive side but a good investment. Only issue was buggy’s on track due to HSBC preparation, so understandable.

Wonderful sister course

While Tanjong is not up to the standard of the other course, the condition is just as good and its a fun courses to play with more forgiving fairways and usually kinder pin positions. If you get the chance you should definitely play here.

Very difficult course with plenty of water hazards. But interesting and beautiful with excellent greens like velvet. Keep your shots in fairway and enjoy one of the best golf courses in the world.
