Golf in Chiba (Narita Area)

Chiba (Narita Area) golf courses

Chiba Prefecture will be the starting point for many golf holidays in Japan as it is home to Narita Airport, which is Japan’s busiest international airport.

Chiba is situated to the east of Tokyo, in the Kanto region of Japan and is part of the greater Tokyo area.  The prefecture is on the east coast of Honshu and the capital city is Chiba.

However, despite having a great deal of people and transport visiting the area to use the airport, much of Chiba is made up of the rural Boso Peninsula and this is a popular destination for people who use it as a weekend getaway from Tokyo.

The golf courses in Chiba are plentiful and include Shibayama Golf Club, Oak Hills Country Club and Taiheiyo Club Narita Course, the latter of which was designed by Gary Player.

Perhaps the best-known attraction in Chiba is Tokyo Disneyland and the resort has been open since 1983.  Two theme parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea make up the resort, with the latter offering more for adults.  There is also a choice of three hotels, dining and entertainment with plans to continue expanding the attraction in the future.

To get a real appreciation of your location, you must take a cable car up Sawteeth Mountain.  At the top of the mountain you can enjoy tremendous views of Tokyo Bay and on clear days you can see Mount Fuji in the distance.

For something a little different, head to Oyama Senmaida which are the only rice fields in Japan grown using just rainwater.  They make for a spectacular sight at sunset and are a great place to visit following a day on the course at one of the many excellent Chiba golf clubs.
