Phoenix Golf and Country Club, Pattaya has recently changed hands and is undergoing major renovations including the closure of one of the nines for a major renovation and remodelling. The course has 27 holes so you can still enjoy a round here and we expect that this course will get better and better as the owner has deep pockets and they have ambitions to attract major international events. Phoenix Golf and Country Club is around 30 minutes outside Pattaya. The course was originally designed by Denis Griffiths in 1993 and the three course are spread over more than 1,000 rai and having been around for so long the course is blessed with may mature trees and colourful local plants.

In addition there are plenty of lakes, ponds and bunkers to ensure that the golf course has some protection.

The Mountain Course offers golfers a wonderful view of one of the famous local landmark which is a huge image of a Buddha carved into a sheer cliff face with a laser. The narrow undulating fairways and the fast greens will provide a stern test for all golfers.

The Lakes Course rewards golfers who can keep their drives on line so ensuring the best position for your layup to the greens. The course is sprinkled with many beautiful ponds and small lakes and few strategically-placed trees and bunkers to challenge most golfers.

The Ocean Course is a favourite with local Pattaya golfers as many of the fairways are lined with mature trees but it is now undergoing a major renovation and to modernise the layout and it is expected to re-open in early 2016.

Pretty caddy make the game PERFECT

Pretty caddy 502 is a very professional caddy. She will use her GPS watch & tell u the yardage for every single shot. Very rare u get to have caddy that have this feature to advise u on the yardage. Do call club house to book her if u want her to caddy for u. Her command of English is very good too, u dont have to worry your instruction was wrongly understood.

Very enjoyable experience overall. Played as a twosome behind a group of four ball, and the pace of play was decent. Completed 18 holes in 4 hours, and we played on a weekend.

Played the mountain and ocean course as lake was closed for maintenance. Mountain is a bit more challenging with more elevation and tree line design with O.B.s on one side for most holes. Whereas ocean was wide open and frankly does not have much hazard, which was much more friendly. The fairways were in great condition for both 9 holes.

Generally speaking, the course was in good condition. A few of the greens could do with some maintenance around the edges.

The only downside was a slow group of 2 ahead of me that did not want me to play through by skipping a hole - eventually, the groundskeeper allowed me to do just that
