Phoenix Golf and Country Club, Pattaya has recently changed hands and is undergoing major renovations including the closure of one of the nines for a major renovation and remodelling. The course has 27 holes so you can still enjoy a round here and we expect that this course will get better and better as the owner has deep pockets and they have ambitions to attract major international events. Phoenix Golf and Country Club is around 30 minutes outside Pattaya. The course was originally designed by Denis Griffiths in 1993 and the three course are spread over more than 1,000 rai and having been around for so long the course is blessed with may mature trees and colourful local plants.
In addition there are plenty of lakes, ponds and bunkers to ensure that the golf course has some protection.
The Mountain Course offers golfers a wonderful view of one of the famous local landmark which is a huge image of a Buddha carved into a sheer cliff face with a laser. The narrow undulating fairways and the fast greens will provide a stern test for all golfers.
The Lakes Course rewards golfers who can keep their drives on line so ensuring the best position for your layup to the greens. The course is sprinkled with many beautiful ponds and small lakes and few strategically-placed trees and bunkers to challenge most golfers.
The Ocean Course is a favourite with local Pattaya golfers as many of the fairways are lined with mature trees but it is now undergoing a major renovation and to modernise the layout and it is expected to re-open in early 2016.
