Originally opened in 1996 but recently renovated and upgraded with a brand new clubhouse Pattavia Century Golf Club is now a great course in a wonderful rural environment about 50 minutes from Pattaya. Terrific value and now in excellent condition.

Pattavia Century Golf Club was originally known as Chonburi Century Country Club but the club was taken over by the owners of Chang Breweries and totally upgraded in 2014 and it takes its new name from the pineapple plantations which surround the course.

The course is hidden away in a remote valley and the only thing that has not been renovated is the road leading to the course which is full of potholes.

This is definitely not a championship course but the layout is excellent and the greens are running fast and true but with some brutal undulations and you need to keep out of the rough as when we played it was pretty deep. From the opening hole you get a great view of the course and the surrounding countryside from a slightly elevated tee.

Hole 6th is probably hardest hole, a fiendishly difficult par-5 with water down the left side so you need to be accurate off the tee. The 7th is a very long uphill par-3 which will probably have your reaching for your driver as its over 200 metres even from the white tees!

The 8th hole is a 397 yard par-4 with a green protected by bunkers on one side and water on the other and if you over club then you end up in the runoff area beyond the flag or even worse the rough. The longest hole is the par-5 12th measuring 569 yards and if you can negotiate the dog leg then you have a tricky approach to a well-protected green.

Be careful off the tee on the 14th as you can easily end up in the pond which lurks about 170 yards from the tee. The finishing hole has a blind tees shot and the elevated green is again well protected by bunkers.

The clubhouse is brand new and although quite small has excellent locker rooms, a reasonable pro shop and the restaurant offers Thai and Western dishes plus of course a cool Chang beer.

A beautiful golfcourse

Here you play golf surrounded by nature. The coursecis challenging. Good fairways. The grass on the greens is brushy and there are grooves which made putting difficult. Good restaurant

Nice course

We booked this course not really expecting much but we were nicely surprised by the quality of the course and the caddies. We were one of only two groups there on the day but all drink stations were open as was the smallish clubhouse where we were treated to a great lunch. The course was a delight to play with all holes in good condition however the concrete paths for the carts could do with replacing. I would play her again for sure.

Nice course lighting fast greens interesting layout

Recomend this course play early when its cool, great caddies , bunker sand was stoney but playable. Fast greens , nice faiways .

"A surprisingly good course"

A surprisingly nice course with some interesting holes. The greens and fairways are in good condition and this was a good test of golf. When we played in February the course was in excellent condition.

"A hidden gem"

Not easy to find as hidden away in a remote location north of Pattaya. No driving range but they do have a small practice green and putting area near the first tee. Fairways good and greens were full of bumps and hollows and quite slow. There is no doubt that this course is great value and we would definitely return even though its bit further out. New small clubhouse is fine.
