During WWII, the Japanese army forced Allied prisoners of war (POWs) and Asian workers to build a railway linking Thailand with Burma (Myanmar). This was immortalised in the famous film The Bridge Over the River Kwai, which was based on these events. Kanchanaburi is also an ideal gateway to national parks in Thailand's western region, and home to a selection of riverside resorts and some excellent golf courses.
We have included two rounds of golf during your stay:
The Grand Prix Golf Club is certainly one of best golf courses in the Kanchanaburi Province, if not the whole of Thailand and is well worth a visit, by golfers of all levels.
Kanchanaburi golf courses are well known for their excellent views and Mida Golf Club is no exception. The foothills and thick pine-tree wooded landscape are a feature throughout the course.
You will also get a chance to visit the famous bridge, the Allied Cemetery and take a train ride along the line to see the museum and walk through Hellfire Pass.
