Caesars Golf Macau, is situated on 175 hectares of land which has been re-claimed from the sea about 20 minutes from the city and is renowned for its numerous water hazards. The 6,889-yard, par-71 course is a daunting prospect for the high handicappers with water coming into play on all but four of the holes and this includes the very challenging 16th where the correct club selection is essential if you are to have any hope of getting on the green.

In order to score well you need to keep out of the water but that’s not the only issue as there are lots of bunkers as well.  This is the most accessible course in Macau and it’s generally easy to get a round here – especially during the week.

The course is also the location of the Butch Harmon School of Golf and it’s the only place apart from Las Vegas where you can learn the same techniques that propelled Tiger Woods to fame.

Many believe that the 3rd hole is the most challenging but the par3, 16th and the finishing par 4 are also potential card wreckers.

The Macau Golf & Country Club is the best golf courses in Macau and is located on the island of Coloane about 30 minutes from the glitz and glamour of Cotai Strip.  The 6,698-yard, par-71 course is very tight and the front nine or mountainside nine requires patience and careful shot selection but there is some relief on the more  picturesque back nine which runs beside the ocean.

The front nine is relatively short and better players can go for their shots but if you are not hitting it straight then you can score bogeys or worse very easily.  Most professionals suggest a more measured approach on the back nine as you often have to contend with the ocean breezes at certain times of the year.  One of the more memorable holes is the 585-yard 12th hole and the 13th hole, which lies right beside the ocean.

The Macau Golf and country Cub is the host of the Macau Open and the fairways have bene graced by such golfing greats as Colin Montgomerie, Fred Couples, John Daly, Nick Faldo, Vijay Singh and Darren Clarke.
