The Gold Coast was already famous in its own right but was put on the map for sports enthusiasts around the globe during the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
As the name suggests, the Gold Coast is a coastal city in Australia and is part of the state of Queensland. It’s the sixth largest city in Australia and is just 60 kilometres away from the state capital of Brisbane.
The Gold Coast Airport enjoys great links across the world thanks to direct flights with New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo. It’s a very interesting airport in that the border between New South Wales and Queensland cuts through the middle of the runway.
If you are booking a Gold Coast golf holiday you are in for a real treat, both on and off the golf course. The Gold Coast is home to a wide array of stunning national parks and attractions, including Curtis Falls, Hinze Dam and Ocean Way. There are also several amusement and theme parks in Gold Coast with Warner Brothers Movie World, Australia’s Sea World and the iconic Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
To visit these great attractions, you first need to tear yourself away from the golf course and there are plenty of Gold Coast golf course to enjoy. Links Hope Island Golf Club and Glades Golf Club, designed by Peter Thompson and Greg Norman respectively are two of the best but with Emerald Lakes Golf Club, Royal Pines Golf Club and Sanctuary Cove Golf Club available, you are spoilt for choice.
